I’m passionate and optimistic about the good that this will bring to our world. I also understand the significant new threats and malicious attack vectors that can block that progress and will continue to focus on evolving secure software practices and architectures to help detect and counter these risks.
Meet Jimmy
Vice President
Jimmy Pham is a passionate technology leader focusing on modern open software and cloud architectures. He’s been with Booz Allen for more than 18 years and is responsible for leading the design, development, and operations of transformative, enterprise-scale software and architectures. He and his team work closely with commercial companies and federal agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Transportation.
Jimmy is also driving innovation across Booz Allen’s digital practice, setting the vision, strategy, and development of accelerators in the areas of cloud-native development and DevSecOps.
Prior to joining the firm, Jimmy was a senior technical project manager at Akamai Technologies, where he led cloud platform security and web acceleration engagements for the U.S. Department of State, Healthcare.gov, and other large federal agencies. In addition, he co-founded and served as vice president for neoSpin, a Philadelphia-based startup specializing in web development and application modernization.
Jimmy co-authored the Enterprise DevOps Playbook, an e-book published in 2016 by O’Reilly Media, which helps organizations determine a plan for meeting their DevOps goals.
Jimmy has a B.S.E. degree in computer science from the University of Pennsylvania.
What makes you excited to come to work every day? Knowing that my team and I have the opportunity and responsibility to help our clients fundamentally transform how they deliver their mission through innovative and creative solutions that can change the world.
What’s a lesson you learned growing up, and how is it still relevant to you today? Any worthwhile goal will require overcoming challenges. Talent alone will not achieve those goals—that’s why I find it important to count on one’s beliefs, perseverance, and optimism.
Why is it important for Booz Allen to be a diverse and inclusive workplace? How are you contributing to creating a culture of inclusion at Booz Allen? Diversity brings creativity and new thinking that foster much more powerful solutions than you can imagine. More importantly, in the big picture, it opens our individual world to different ideas and opportunities. This certainly doesn’t happen overnight and requires everyone to be deliberate and do things that create a culture of inclusion. One of the key things I do is challenge myself and my colleagues to not accept the status quo. Instead, we focus on uncovering and engaging different channels and creative media to attract and find diversity.
