Effective January 4, 2022, all Booz Allen employees, including those who have previously contracted COVID-19, those outside the U.S. (except where prohibited by country-specific laws), and those in our Global Commercial business, must be fully vaccinated. Exceptions to this policy are only granted to those with a firm-approved medical or religious accommodation. For further information on this condition of employment, please consult our career site Candidate Resource section.
Pre-hires will need to complete a Vaccination Status Validation action as part of their onboarding tasks prior to their first day of employment. This activity will include providing vaccination details and uploading vaccination proof, or confirming they have an approved medical or religious accommodation through the firm’s Accommodation team. Instructions will be provided to pre-hires during their onboarding process. Pre-hires will have the option to request that uploaded vaccination documents be deleted after they are verified.
From the very start, the pandemic has challenged our firm, the federal government, and the world. Throughout our pandemic response, we’ve endeavored to protect the health of our people, their families, and our communities while supporting our clients’ critical missions. In the fall of 2021, the firm implemented a vaccination requirement that required a final dose of a coronavirus vaccine for all Booz Allen employees as a condition of employment (unless an employee has an approved or in process accommodation, or state-specific exemption). To be clear, our vaccination requirement is independent of any Executive Order or U.S. Federal Government mandate. Today, 100 percent of our active employees are compliant with our vaccination requirement—either through vaccination or an approved accommodation. Thank you for helping us accomplish this remarkable goal. Science shows that vaccines make COVID-19 less severe in those who contract it, and this is proving to be the case for our people. Vaccines are important for public health and are the best way to help ensure that we can safely move forward together.
While we encourage everyone who is currently eligible for a COVID-19 booster shot to get theirs, you are considered fully vaccinated and compliant with the firm’s vaccination requirement if you received your final dose of a coronavirus vaccine at least 2 weeks prior to your employment.
We know that vaccines have helped make the disease less severe in individuals who contract COVID-19 and vaccines are important for public health. We want to do our part to put the pandemic behind us, and the science shows that vaccinations are the best way to ensure that we can safely move forward together.
While people do achieve a natural immunity by having COVID-19, the effectiveness and durability of that immunity varies by individual. We know that vaccines have helped make the disease less severe in individuals who contract COVID-19 and vaccines are important for public health.
No. While testing is an important part of protection during a pandemic, it is not a replacement for preventing continued infection. In addition to being extremely costly over an extended period of time, testing only provides a snapshot of an individual’s health. International public health organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), recommend community vaccination as the most effective way to limit the spread of the virus and protect public health.
If you are participating in an approved clinical trial in the U.S., and you have been documented to have received the full series of active (not placebo) vaccine (for which efficacy has been independently confirmed), you are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after completing the full vaccine series. In the U.S., the Novavax vaccine currently meets this requirement.
Accommodations are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please note that in reviewing any requests related to COVID-19 vaccine exemption, an accommodation must allow for an individual to perform the essential functions of their role, while still keeping all others with whom they work safe.
We are requiring anyone (e.g., employees, contractors, clients, candidates, friends/family) who enters a currently open Booz Allen facility to provide proof of full vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 5 calendar days prior to entry.
Everyone who is inside a Booz Allen facility, regardless of their vaccination status, must continue to follow our current protocols, including:
